Using a Dinasaw ABN wheel to do some offset / tilt / down angle grinding on a Oregon 404 full chisel chain. I have had the ABN wheel now for a little over a year and have been happy with how it works. It is very well suited to this type of job where a lot of metal need to be removed due to damage on the side plate.

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that you may have questions before changing your sharpening process

Question 1: Are DinaSaw ABN grinding wheels compatible with my sharpening machine?

Yes. DinaSaw ABN grinding wheels are designed for use on automatic and semi-automatic chain sharpening systems, including DinaSaw T-Rex and similar industrial sharpeners. If you’re unsure, we can quickly confirm the correct wheel for your setup

Question 2: What makes ABN grinding wheels better than standard wheels?

ABN (Abrasive Boron Nitride) wheels maintain their shape longer, grind cooler, and deliver more consistent tooth geometry. This results in less burning, longer wheel life, and more reliable sharpening over extended production runs.

Question 3: How long does a DinaSaw ABN grinding wheel last?

Wheel life depends on chain type, sharpening frequency, and operating conditions. In high-volume pallet and sawmill operations, users typically experience significantly longer life compared to standard grinding wheels, reducing changeovers and downtime.

Question 4: Do I need to change my sharpening process or settings?

No major changes are required. DinaSaw ABN grinding wheels are designed to integrate easily into existing sharpening workflows. In most cases, they can be installed and run with standard machine settings. Setup guidance is available if needed.

Question 5: How do I clean my grinding wheels?

Use non-flammable cleaning methods only to remove resin and debris. The safest and most effective option is a grinding wheel cleaning stick, which restores performance without damaging the wheel.

Avoid solvents or flammable products. DinaSaw cleaning sticks are designed specifically for ABN wheels to help extend wheel life and maintain grind quality.
